West Ham Close in on Two Major Signings, Impacting Manchester United

West Ham United are on the verge of securing two significant transfers that could have notable repercussions for Manchester United. According to reports, the Hammers are closing in on a deal for Manchester United right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka and are also targeting Monaco star Youssouf Fofana.

Wan-Bissaka to West Ham

The Red Devils are open to selling Aaron Wan-Bissaka as they near an agreement with Bayern Munich’s Noussair Mazraoui, who had also been linked with West Ham. Despite previously reaching a deal with Bayern for Mazraoui, West Ham manager Julen Lopetegui now seems set to settle for Wan-Bissaka after Mazraoui agreed on personal terms with Manchester United.

French outlet Foot Mercato reports that West Ham have ‘matched Man Utd’s demands’ for Wan-Bissaka’s transfer following an ‘undisclosed agreement’ between the clubs. The final step for Wan-Bissaka’s move to the London Stadium is agreeing on personal terms with the Hammers. The 26-year-old defender could become a valuable asset for Lopetegui, providing competition for Vladimir Coufal.

Fofana in West Ham’s Sights

In addition to Wan-Bissaka, West Ham have made a bid of €35m (£29.6m) for Monaco midfielder Youssouf Fofana, who has also been linked with Manchester United. The 25-year-old is one of Ligue 1’s standout midfielders and is open to a Premier League move. However, AC Milan is also interested in Fofana and has submitted a €17m (£14.4m) bid, which Monaco swiftly rejected.

West Ham’s offer aligns with Monaco’s valuation, but Fofana’s preference leans towards joining Milan. The Hammers now face the challenge of persuading both Wan-Bissaka and Fofana to join their ranks.

Striker and Winger Targets

West Ham is also keen to sign a new striker, with Aston Villa’s Jhon Duran being a prime target. The Colombian international has expressed a strong desire to join the Hammers, as evidenced by a recent Instagram live stream where he made a Hammers symbol with his arms. Despite having a £35m bid rejected by Villa, West Ham is determined to secure Duran, who has already agreed to a five-year deal with them.

Additionally, Lopetegui’s side is preparing an offer for Arsenal winger Reiss Nelson, a key target for Leicester City. The Hammers are actively strengthening their squad, aiming for a robust lineup ahead of the new season.
