Rangers Push Again for Joan Jordán Signing: Philippe Clement’s Side Make New Attempt

In a determined effort to bolster their squad, Rangers have made another bid to secure Joan Jordán from Sevilla. Philippe Clement’s side has been actively pursuing the 30-year-old midfielder, and recent developments indicate they are pushing hard to get the deal done. This move follows a previous attempt that saw their loan offer rejected by the La Liga club.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Rangers have renewed their efforts, proposing a loan deal with an option to buy set at €4 million. This new attempt also includes covering 40% of Jordán’s current salary. Despite the initial refusal, Rangers are not backing down and are keen on bringing the experienced midfielder to Ibrox.

Contrary to some reports from the Scottish press over the weekend, which suggested that the deal was close to completion, Mucho Deporte has refuted these claims. They state that while Rangers are actively working on the transfer, it is not yet close to being finalized. The situation remains fluid, with negotiations ongoing and no definitive conclusion reached at this stage.

Earlier in the summer, Sevilla also turned down a proposal from Deportivo Alavés for Jordán, deeming it unconvincing. Despite these rejections, the Spaniard has continued to train normally with the team. However, Sevilla’s manager, García Pimienta, has made it clear that Jordán is not part of his plans for the upcoming season, adding an element of tension to the situation.

This tension could work in Rangers’ favor. Mucho Deporte suggests that there may be movements towards the end of the transfer window, potentially allowing Rangers to capitalize on Sevilla’s eagerness to offload the player for a reasonable price.

For now, Rangers remain focused on their target. As the transfer window progresses, they hope to finally secure Joan Jordán, adding his experience and skills to their midfield lineup.
