Philippe Clement rushed out of Murrayfield at full-time of Rangers loss v Man United

Rangers manager Philippe Clement was rushed away from Murrayfield after the conclusion of their match with Manchester United on Saturday, according to Four Lads Had A Dream.

The podcasters posted on their X page [20 July] that Clement left the stadium for a “long-standing engagement” involving his family in Belgium.

First-team coach Alex Rae instead took on press duties following the 2-0 friendly defeat to United, played at a packed-out Murrayfield due to delayed ongoing works at Ibrox.

Rangers defeated by Man Utd in pre-season contest

Despite an excellent atmosphere inside Murrayfield – some 48 miles from their home – Rangers went down 2-0 to United.

Former Gers loanee Amad Diallo nabbed a cracking goal and would likely have been satisfied to do so after his stop-start stint at Ibrox.

Joe Hugill netted the other in the second half, with both sides using the breadth of their squads throughout the afternoon – in Clement’s case, more additions must and will be brought in over the coming weeks.

The Belgian made the majority of his changes with 15 minutes remaining, and was sharp to leave the stadium following the final whistle – not helped by the 15-minute delay to kick-off caused by crowd congestion.
