“Clement reveals Rangers’ starting XI against Ajax, with two key players sidelined.”

Philippe Clement has announced his Rangers lineup to face Ajax.

Rangers are set to play their first public pre-season friendly this afternoon in the Netherlands. While they have already played one match this summer—a 0-0 draw with Standard Liege—it was held behind closed doors. Today, fans will get their first opportunity to see Rangers in action during their pre-season preparations at WHC Wezep’s home ground, De Mulderssingel in Wezep, Netherlands. Kick-off is at 4pm local time, which is 3pm in the UK.

Jack Butland starts in goal, supported by Dujon Sterling, Connor Goldson, Ben Davies, and Jefte in defense. Mohamed Diomande, Nico Raskin, and Kieran Dowell form the midfield, with Tom Lawrence and Rabbi Matondo providing support to Cyriel Dessers up front.

Despite a lengthy list of substitutes, Rangers’ James Tavernier and Todd Cantwell are notable absentees from the matchday squad in the Netherlands, despite being with their teammates.
