Kovacs has previously refereed two matches involving Rangers.
He was first in charge during the 2-2 draw between Rangers and Villarreal in Spain back in 2018.
Kovacs then refereed the match between Rangers and Slavia Prague in the round of 16 in the Europa League in 2022 – Slavia Prague won the match 2-1.
